Avalanche Beat Oilers: Varlamov Leads Colorado To 3-2 Shootout Win Over Edmonton
DENVER — Milan Hejduk and Peter Mueller scored in the shootout and Semyon Varlamov stopped both shots he faced and the Colorado Avalanche held off the Edmonton Oilers for a 3-2 win on Saturday.
Cody McLeod and Mueller added goals in regulation for the surging Avalanche, who kept within striking distance of the eighth and final playoff spot.
Ryan Smyth and Taylor Hall scored for the Oilers.
